When to Visit Boracay Guide
For most people, the best time to go to Boracay is from October to May. It is this time that visitors can get the best of the island’s tropical climate and experience the serene blue waters, gentle breeze, and sun kissed white sand that Boracay is known throughout the world for.
Peak Season
This season of perfect weather (for most days of the month) is called Amihan or Dry Season. This time of year is also commonly referred to as Peak or High season because most tourists visit Boracay during this time, filling up the island’s hotels, resorts, restaurants, and bars. If you’re planning to visit Boracay during Peak Season, you’ll have to share the beach with many other tourists wanting to experience a slice of paradise. Don’t worry though because there’s still a lot of less crowded places far from the bustling tourist areas of Boracay where you can go.
Super Peak Season
It is best to avoid visiting Boracay during Christmas, New Year, and Holy Week (Easter) unless you’re up for horrendously overcrowded beaches, outrageous prices, and long wait lines.
Off-peak Season
Boracay Island only has two general weather patterns. The remaining parts of the year (June to Septermber) is called Habagat or Wet Season. Tropical Storms and rainy days are frequent during Wet Season so less visitors go to Boracay because of the unfavorable conditions. This period of low tourist turnout is also referred to as the off-peak or low season, hotels and resorts have lower rates during this time to encourage more tourists to visit.
White Beach during Peak and Low Season
In Boracay, the main indicator of the switch between the Amihan and Habagat seasonal patterns is the switch in wind direction. During Amihan (Peak) Season, the calm and serene side of Boracay is in White Beach, perfect for swimming, walking along the beach, and sun bathing. Bulabog Beach on the other side of Boracay Island is popular to windsurfing and kite boarding enthusiasts during this time of year because of rough the winds. During Habagat (Low) Season, the conditions are reversed between the two beaches.

Festivals and Events
Most of the festivals and events occur during Amihan (Peak) season. During the third week of January, the island celebrates the Ati-atihan Festival, the country’s local version of Mardi Gras.
International sports events such as the Boracay International Fun Board Cup and the International Paraw Cup Challenge is also held annually during January to February. The nightlife in Boracay is also very lively during Peak Season. Click Here for a schedule of Events and Festivals held every year in Boracay.
